Summer Festival グッズ (Goods)

Shokotan is showing off the new merch for the Summer Festival next week (my did time fly).
Above is the fan and a Glowstick pouch which comes in handy at concerts.
I'm a little surprised that the glowsticks are disposable this year as opposed to previous concerts where you got a chance to buy the LED kind. I'm not sure what's the reasoning behind it. I wish they were LED though >_< it is better for the environment. But I digress. heh

New Happi coat!
A little about them..
Happi are cotton coats usually worn at Festivals (more specifically summer festivals).
Happi are always sold at Shokotan's concert tours and worn for the concerts.

It's a little strange to see a completely different style of Happi Coat. They are usually pink which of course is Shoko's color. But I still love the design and there's some pink in the rabu mami clioneko picture in the back.

I am really loving this towel with the clioneko camouflage print. It's really cute.
If you're wondering why they would sell towels at concerts it because they are very high energy and well you need something to wipe off that sweat. lol

Shokotan holding the goods. There will also be an LED bracelet.

Here's a link to the goods page on her fanclub page:

Victini and the Dark Hero

Shokotan has been busy promoting the New (and 14th! wow I feel old!) Pokemon movie titled: "Victini and the Dark Hero".

The movie was released recently this month and stars the Fire/Psychic-type Pokémon, Victini.
Victini was a special downloadable Pokemon only available if you purchased the Black/White Pokemon game early in it's release this year.

This new Pokemon is sooo cute. He is small and not known to evolve into another form (please correct me if I'm mistaken on this) He enjoys eating macaroons so it's no wonder why Shokotan has grown to like him so much lol.
Its large pointed ears are shaped like a "V" for Victory which he brings to its trainer.

I know this post has deviated into Pokemon talk lol but I can't help it. I've been a fan since the series debuted here in the U.S. back in 1998.
Although success has waned here in the states it is still very relevant and everyone knows who the iconic Pikachu is! I'm happy that the franchise is still going very strong in Japan.

Shokotan has also been a big fan of Pokemon since childhood. I love how even at her age she still feels so passionate about it almost a decade later. Oh Nostalgia.

Rapunzel on the Tower

"塔の上のラプンツェル" (Translation: Rapunzel on the Tower") known as Disney's"Tangled" in the US is released today in Japan!
For those of you who might not know Shokotan was chosen to voice the lead role of Rapunzel this past spring in Disney's 50th animation.

Shokotan is definitely no newcomer to voice acting. Her first voice acting job was playing "Suzuna: In "Eyeshield 21" , then "Neko" in "Hakaba Kitaro" after that she voiced Zero's android maid, "Infi", in the 11th Pokemon movie, and the of course she also voices the Pokemon "GizaMimi Pichu" in the series.
However, this role was the first major role for her. Shoko was very honored to be chosen by a major company like Disney.

I was fortunate enough to watch this movie with Japanese audio and I must say her voice acting was superb and fit like a glove. There were many similarities between her and the character. I can definitely see why she was chosen.
The movie is really cute and has some really funny moments. I own the American version and will definitely be picking up the Japanese version when I get a chance.

Shokotan is very excited that the movie is now out on DVD and Blu-ray. She mentions that she purchased a brand new TV to better view the movie in her home.

*UPDATE* I figured I should mention that If you are interested in buying the movie. CDJAPAN carries it on their website
http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=VWBS-1245
There also have pretty much all her collection of CD's and DVD's so feel free to check it out.

Mezamashi Live!

Shokotan performed at the open air concert "Odaiba Gashuukoku 2011 Mezamashi Live" on Monday July 18.
"Mezamashi Live" is a concert series that runs from July 16th through August 31st in Odaiba.
You could say it's like a Music Festival. Different artist perform on different days throughout the summer.
Yesterday was very hot in Japan and I hope everyone managed to stay cool and safe. I also hope everyone had a lot of fun. :)

Natsu Summer Special 夏まつり

Shokotan has been rehearsing for the 2 day Donyoku (Greedy) festival at NHK Hall this August.
It will be a continuation of her live tour "SHOKO NAKAGAWA Live Tour 2011"「今こそ団結!~笑顔の輪~」
Translation:“Imakoso Danketsu!〜Egao no Wa〜(Time for Unity! ~Circle of Smiles~)”

I am guessing it will be very similar to the 2 day festival last year entitled: "Cho Donyoku Matsuri at Makuhari Messe."
This was a wonderful event where there were activities, food, karaoke, Shokotan items auction which included some of her wardrobe from previous concert tours, and of course a concert on both days.

She states "low life gauge".....as she works hard on her performance.  Ganbatte Shoko!

Iphone Gets!

Flip phones have always been very popular in Japan but Iphone has been gaining lots of popularity.
It's no surprise that Shokotan has just converted to the apple side of the Keitai.
She is already blinging it out in true Shoko fashion. ww

Nail Days

Shokotan has always been a fan of outrageous nails. She once said that it helped break the ice when she had to interview Sylvester Stallone and didn't know what to talk about.

Her favorite nail people are "Jill&Lovers" in Harajuku. If you have the cash to splurge (Nail sets run on average about $200 yowza) it is definitely worth checking them out. You can get your nails done by the same nail artist as Shokotan.

How she can play video games with these babies is a mystery to me. heheheh but I really do love seeing the masterpieces that Jill & Lovers create.

In this entry Shoko mentions that the middle nail looks alot like the shaved ice. I have to agree. This pic made me want shaved iced. :9
